WATCH THE VIDEO - Proving Interventek's 20K valve capability with operator witnessed coil-in-coil shear-seal tests

Planning a coil-in-coil de-sanding intervention, a North Sea operator recently approached us to discuss how our valves might compare to other solutions.

There was a lack of industry-proven capability for this application, so we happily agreed to demonstrate the ease with which our technology could deliver multiple coil-in-coil cuts, without redress, with subsequent high and low pressure tests to demonstrate sealing integrity.

Witnessed by the operator and followed by full analysis and reporting, the two shear and seal tests were 100% successful. The video shows a stock 5-1/8” 20,000psi Open-Water Valve cutting the supplied coil-in coil sample, comprising 2.000” OD x 0.203” WT, QT1000 (outer) and 1.000” OD x 0.125” WT, QT900 (inner).

The actuator pressure required for the first cut was 2,095psi and for the second cut was 2,125psi. Successful 300psi and 5,000psi hydrostatic pressure tests were conducted following both cuts.

The results confirmed that using Interventek’s Revolution valve in the field would deliver the superior cutting and sealing capability required for this challenging application, with the highest level of integrity assurance.

Such industry-leading performance is achievable across our full range of compact Revolution valves.

Want the best performance AND cost savings? No problem. Our compact valves are designed not only with a unique cutting and sealing mechanism, but also feature rotary actuators requiring a much lower hydraulic fluid volume.

This means your overall system footprint can be reduced enormously to offer lightweight deployment options, ease of handling and well-access, reduced fatigue loading on aged wellheads and significantly reduced maintenance and redress cost.
