Interventek to Showcase New Technology at US Deepwater Intervention Forum

The 12th Annual US Deepwater Intervention Forum: 9th-11th August at the Galveston Convention Centre in Texas.

Aberdeen’s award-winning subsea engineering company Interventek will be presenting a new range of technologically advanced well control and intervention products at the US Deepwater Intervention Forum (DIF). The 12th annual event takes place on 9th-11th August at the Galveston Convention Centre in Texas.

Addressing the Innovation Session on day 2 of the conference, Interventek’s managing director Gavin Cowie will showcase their novel approach to shear and seal valve design.

Outlining the new technology he said: “Our Revolution Valve represents the next generation in shear and seal design. It has been engineered as a ‘best in class’ solution to provide more reliable, lower cost and rapidly deployed well control equipment for intervention operations throughout the complete lifecycle of the well.

“This is the only valve on the market that does not compromise its ability to seal with its shearing action and does not use any elastomer components for well fluid containment. It has the advantages of being lightweight, compact, scalable and extremely high performance whilst meeting the highest industry standards and it can be manufactured and delivered much faster and at a fraction of the cost of competitor products.

“We look forward to presenting our technology at DIF and sharing our solutions for improving the efficacy of subsea well interventions into the future.”

Earlier this year, Interventek’s Revolution Valve was acknowledged by industry leaders and peers when the company won a prestigious SPE Offshore Achievement Award in the Emerging Technology category.

DIF is the recognised platform for the global deepwater industry to learn about new subsea intervention technology and will bring together experts in the fields of design, innovation, regulation and cost reduction. Interventek is exhibiting on stand 401 in the main hall and would welcome enquiries from potential partners, clients and other interested parties.
